The Lactation Clinic, located at the Wellness Hub in Huntsville, assists and supports new families to meet their individual breastfeeding goals. This program is available to all Algonquin Family Health Team patients as well as others in the community as appointments are available. The clinic provides one-on-one visits with a certified lactation consultant. Support is available at any point during the breastfeeding journey.
Topics include (but are not limited to):
- Antenatal support and advice
- Follow-up after discharge from a level 2 to level 3 hospital
- Low milk supply
- Slow weight gain
- Breastfeeding tips and tricks
- Assessment and management of tongue ties
