We book appointments for individuals living in Huntsville, Port Sydney, Utterson, Dwight, Dorset, Baysville, or Novar.
We are offering scheduled appointments for comprehensive primary care as well as cancer screening and mental health referrals.
Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 4:00 pm
as staffing allows.
We accept patients who:
If you have a doctor or NP in Ontario, you must access care through his/her/their office.
The Annex is NOT a walk-in clinic, and appointments must be scheduled by calling 705-789-1744.
Patients who have a primary care provider or nurse practitioner (NP) in Ontario will NOT be seen for primary care at the Annex and will be redirected to their own offices.
Due to extremely high demand, our wait times for an appointment can be up to 6–8 weeks. Please call ahead to schedule your visit well in advance.
Same-day and next-day appointments are available on a limited basis for urgent care. We do our best to provide care in a timely manner.
Patients are not rostered to the Annex or any of its doctors or nurse practitioners. You may not see the same provider from visit to visit. Our staff will book you with the most appropriate and next available Annex clinician. This may be a physician, NP, registered nurse or community paramedic. Regardless of who you see, we will provide you with the best possible care.
While the Annex is not for emergencies, the clinic aims to provide acute care for non-emergent illnesses, preventative care (e.g., immunizations, cancer screening, well baby checks), manage chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes and high blood pressure), and reduce avoidable emergency visits.
You may be advised to do bloodwork prior to your appointment. Please ensure this is done at least 1 day prior to your visit.
Our appointments are in high demand, and we are always fully booked. To best serve the community, we require 24 hours advance notice for cancellation of an appointment to enable us to book another patient in need.
If no cancellation notice is provided, or you do not show up for your appointment, there will be a fee charged as follows:
This fee is due in cash to either the clinician noted on the invoice or to the Huntsville Healthcare Clinic directly within 30 calendar days. No cash is kept on premises. Exact amount is required.
If you miss your appointment without providing 24 hours’ notice of cancellation, you will not be able to pre-book future appointments with the Annex until your fee is paid. Same day urgent care may be available by calling the Annex if there is an available opening.
Recurrent no shows may result in a patient not receiving any future care at the Annex.
Phone calls will be returned in a timely fashion. Please do not leave more than one message on our voicemail.
We will attempt to reach a patient a maximum of two times. If we are unable to reach you after two attempts, it is your responsibility to follow up with us directly.
Please be aware that the Annex is unable to leave personal health information on voicemail or with any family members unless you sign our written consent form. You can request this at the clinic.
Uninsured services, such as drivers’ medical forms, sick notes for work or school, insurance documents, etc. will be subject to a fee.
To ensure safe and quality care, prescriptions will be written for a time-limited period based on the discretion of the provider. If you have run out of medications a follow-up appointment is required. We will not provide prescription refills requested by phone or from pharmacies.
Due to high demand, please ensure you have planned well ahead of time to see one of our providers before you run out of medications. If you run out and we cannot accommodate you, please contact your pharmacy or virtual care options as they can refill most medications.
Although we understand that your health is an important matter and that it is challenging to navigate the healthcare system, the Annex has a zero-tolerance policy for aggressive and disrespectful behaviour. Please treat all staff with respect as we do our best to provide you with optimal care. Failing to do so will result in the Annex being unable to serve you.
If you do not have a doctor or nurse practitioner, please register with Health Care Connect.
The Ontario Health Care Connect (HCC) program helps you find a family doctor or nurse practitioner in your community who is accepting new patients.
