A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced university education who provides personalized, quality health care to patients.  Ontario nurse practitioners provide a full range of health care services to individuals, families and communities in a variety of settings including hospitals and community based clinics in cities and smaller towns in Ontario.  Nurse practitioners can diagnose and treat common injuries and illnesses, write most prescriptions and order blood and diagnostic tests.  The nurse practitioners at the Algonquin Family Health Team have a full roster of patients providing general primary health care services for patients of all ages, and are involved in a variety of programs.

The nurse practitioner is available Mondays-Fridays from 8:00-4:00pm by appointment only.
