Pulmonary Rehab

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a program of exercise and education for individuals living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).  The program is designed:

• To increase the understanding of COPD and how to manage it effectively, including proper use of COPD medications and devices
• To increase physical fitness to improve ability to perform activities of daily life
• To assist in developing a safe and effective home exercise program
• To aid in the development of  effective coping strategies

Program Highlights:

Patients attend two group sessions per week for eight weeks; each session is two hours in length (Individual appointments also available)
Education sessions facilitated by multidisciplinary teams
Exercise sessions include warm-up stretching, mobility exercises, and strengthening activities using lights weights and bands

For your convenience, programs are offered in Huntsville, Bracebridge, and Gravenurst.  Should you wish to be referred to this program, please make a request through your primary care provider.
